How do all-on-x implants work?

When you commit to the All-on-X procedure, surgery will be performed to place four implant posts into your jaw. The location and angle of each post will be carefully chosen ahead of time; the goal is to position them in a way that lets them take advantage of the parts of the jaw where the bone is thickest.

The implant posts will be allowed to form a bond with the jawbone through osseointegration. They will ultimately be used as the foundation for a personalized full denture, allowing you to enjoy a complete smile that will stay firmly in place at all times.

Am I a candidate for all-on-x implants?

You might qualify for the All-on-X procedure if most or all of the teeth in your upper or lower jaw are missing. It’s worth noting that All-on-X can sometimes make bone grafting unnecessary, meaning it can be a good option for those who have lower levels of bone density in their jaws. However, you still need to have a healthy mouth that’s free of gum disease, and you must be able to maintain the right oral hygiene habits after your implants have been placed.

Benefits of All-on-X Implants

Choosing All-on-X to reclaim a complete smile means being able to enjoy the following advantages:

  • You’ll have a lifelike prosthesis that looks and feels natural.
  • You will be able to brush and floss your replacement teeth as if they were natural teeth, which ultimately makes them very easy to maintain.
  • You will be able to prevent the deterioration of your jawbone with the help of your implant posts.
  • You will be able to eat virtually anything you want with the bite force and chewing power provided by your dental implants.

All-on-X vs. Traditional Implants

There are a few important distinctions between All-on-X and traditional dental implant placement. Not only does All-on-X reduce the number of implant posts needed to support a full denture, but it can eliminate the need for bone grafting, which can shorten your treatment plan by several months. Also, with All-on-X, you might not have to wait to be able to enjoy new teeth because a denture can often be placed on the same day as your dental implant surgery.
